India Sub
The Indian sub continent is a region of the Asian Continent and forms a Diamond shaped Peninsula which extends Southward into the Indian Ocean. Being separated from the rest of the continent by the Himalayan mountain range and the shores of the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal to the Southwest and Southeast respectively.
While India, Pakistan and Bangladesh compromise the countries on the mainland, the offshore lands of Sri Lanka and the Maldives are also often included when describing the region.
Being cut off from the rest of the continent by the Himalayan mountain range and being connected to the Indian Ocean it is no wonder that the main form of goods transport in and out of India is by sea.
